Kokuvil Hindu College.
KHC is one of the leading high school in Srilanka. It is the first educational establishment in Srilanka for which a history book was published in hard pack. In 2008 A' Level examination students of Kokuvil Hindu College achieved best resuts in Jaffna district.
Current principal of KHC Mr. Arunasalam Ahiladas B. A. M. Edn. He assumed duties on 14th September 2007. He married to a past pupil of KHC and lives in Nanthavil.

Fathers of Education Srila Sri Arumuga Navalar, Sir Ponnambalam Ramanathan, Sir Vaitlingam Duraisamy, Hindu Board Rajaratnam and Handy Perinpanayakam and several others established Hindu schools and made the people proud of their language and religion. Besides, Swami Vipulananda who was a great Tamil scholar and first Professor of the Annamalai University and University of Ceylon was greatly involved in the promotion of the Tamil language, religion and cultural activities like music and dance. - Ceylon Daily News 04-05-2005
கொக்குவில் இந்துவின் மைந்தனாகப் பிறந்த ஒவ்வொருவனும் அன்னையின் பரிணாம வளர்ச்சியில் அக்கறை உடையவனாக இருந்து வருவான். அந்த வகையில் நானும் தாய்த்திரு நாட்டை விட்டுப் வெளியேறிப்போய் தூர தேசத்திலிருந்தாலும் அன்னையின் வளர்ச்சி, முன்னேற்றம் என்பவற்றை அறியும் ஆவலுடனே இருப்பது என்பது எனக்கு மட்டுமுள்ள குணமா இல்லை எல்லோருக்கும் அந்தப்பற்று இருக்குமா என்பது சிந்திக்க Nவுண்டிய ஒன்றே. ஆயினும் எதிர்பார்ப்பதை விட கூடிய அளவு அக்கறையுடைய மைந்தர்களே அதிகம் என்று கூறின் மிகையாகாது.
கல்லுரியின் நூற்றாண்டை நினைக்கும் போது பல நினைவுகள் மனதில் எழுகின்றன. 1910-ம் ஆண்டு திரு. செல்லையா அவர்கள் கிருபாகர சுப்பிரமணிய கோயிலுக்கு வட புறமாக ஒரு ஆரம்ப பாடசாலையை தொடங்கினார். 1926-ம் ஆண்டில் கோயிலுக்கு தெற்குப் பக்கத்தில் எட்டாம் வகுப்புவரை கல்விகற்கக்கூடிய புதிய வசதிகளுடன் இயங்க ஆரம்பித்தது. ஸ்தாபகர் புதிதாக எழுப்பிய கட்டிடம் இருந்த நிலப்பரப்பின் பெயர் 'நினைத்ததை முடித்தான் வளவு'. எனது அபிப்பிராயமும் அதுவே. செல்லையா அவர்கள் ஓய்வு பெறும் போது பாடசாலையை இந்துக் கல்லூரி இயக்குனர் சபையிடம் ஒப்படைத்தார். இயக்குனர் சபை 1928 இல் அப்போது பிரபலமடைந்திருந்த கார்திகேசு மாஸ்டர் என்பவரை தலமை ஆசிரியராக நியமித்தது. 1926 ஆம் ஆண்டு

கொக்குவில் இந்துக் கல்லூரிக்கான எனது பணி 1940 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆரம்பமாயிற்று. ஊ இலிருந்து டீ பசயனந ஆக மாறி மாணவர்கள் இலண்டன் மெற்றிகுலேசன் பரீட்சை எடுக்க முதன் முதலில் அனுமதிக்ப் பட்ட காலம் அது. நான் ஆசிரியத்தெழிலை ஆரம்பித்து மூன்று ஆண்டுகளுக்குள் படிப்பதோடு மட்டுமல்லாமல் பள்ளியைப் பராமரிக்கும் பணியிலும் பங்கு கொள்ள வேண்டியிருந்தது. யாழ் இந்துக் கல்லூரியில் எனது ஆசிரியராக இருந்த ஸேக்ஸஷ்பியர் நாகலிங்கம் அவர்களைச் சந்தித்து அவர் அதிபராக வருவதற்கு வழி செய்தேன்.
ஸேக்ஸ்பியர் நாகலிங்கம் அவர்களின் அயராத முயற்சியால் மூன்று ஏக்கர் நிலம் வாங்கப்பட்டு அது கொக்குவில் இந்துவின் வளர்சிக்கு மூலாதாரமாய் அமைந்தது. 1948 இல் புசயனந 1 பாடசாலையாக அது உயர்ந்தது.
1950 இல் அமரர் ஹண்டி பேரின்பநாயகம் அவர்கள் அதிபராகப் பொறுப்றே;றார். 1950 க்கும் 1960க்கம் இடையில் கொக்குவில் இந்து பிரபல்யம அடையத்தொடங்கியது. அக் காலகட்டத்தை கல்லூரியின் பொற்காலம் எனலாம். பத்தாண்டு காலம் உபஅதிபராகப் பணியாற்றியபின் 1960 ஆம் ஆண்டு அதிபர் பதவியை நான் ஏற்றேன். கொக்குவில் இந்து 1964 ஆம் ஆண்டு ளரிநச பசயனந நிலையைப் பெற்றது. 1940 ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் கல்லூரியின் முன்னேற்றத்திற்காக உழைத்த எனக்கு இது மட்டிலாத திருப்தியையும் பெருமையையும் கொடுத்தது.
திரு சுப்பிரமணியமும் அவரின் குடும்பத்தினரும் கல்வி வளர்ச்சிக்காக பெருந்தொகைப் பணத்தை கையளித்து கல்லூரிக்கு கட்டிட வசதிகளை அமைத்து பேருதவி செய்கின்ற நன்மை அளப்பரியது. இறைவன் அவருக்கு பூரண ஆயுளையும் சகல செல்வங்களையும் அளிக்க வாழ்த்துகிறேன்.

The Jaffna Youth Congress had been inaugurated in 1924. In the beginning, leading members included educationalists and others who commanded respect and regard among Tamils, such as Handy Perinpanayagam, J V Chelliah, "Kalai-Pulavar" C S Navaratnam, A E Tambar, "Orator" Subramaniam, I P Thurairatnam, attorneys at law, M S Ilayathamby and T M Suppiah, Bishop S Kulendran and P Nagalingham (later a Senator). The Congress displayed its national consciousness by electing P G S Kularatne as President, a Sinhalese principal of Ananda College, Colombo, at its second Annual General Meeting.
The Jaffna Youth Congress was the first organization to openly declare that the people of Ceylon do not want to remain under British colonial rule and they agitated for full independence, publicly burning the Union Jack.
Mahinda Rajapakse said on his independance day speech on 04-02-20089 - From the time of Handy Perinpanayagam, leader of the Jaffna Youth League who first called for full independence for Sri Lanka, to the time of Dr. T. B. Jayah, and Ponnambalam Ramanathan, whose statue stands at the Presidential Secretariat premises today; all our people were in the freedom struggle.
Mr. E. Chelliah as thefounder of Kokuvil Hindu College and its first head master,
made the beginning of the school in October 1910 in a house at 3rd milepost,
Kokuvil. Within a year’s time the infant school was housed in semi temporary
shed on the outer northern courtyard of the Puthukovil Temple.
