Media Studies to be introduced at KHC.

KHC is the first college in Jaffna where media studies to be introduced into the curriculum.

பெண்களுக்கான கூடைப்பந்தாட்டப் போட்டி ஒன்றில் கொக்குவில் இந்துக் கல்லூரி ஒரு புள்ளியினால் வெற்றி பெற்றுள்ளது. கொக்குவில் இந்துக் கல்லூரி கூடைப்பந்தாட்டத் திடலில் மின்னொளியில் நடைபெற்ற போட்டியில் உடுவில் மகளிர் கல்லூரியும் கொக்குவில் இந்துக் கல்லூரியும் மோதிக் கொண்டன. முதல் கால் பாதி ஆட்டத்தில் 10:05 புள்ளிகள் என்று பின்தங்கி இருந்த உடுவில் மகளிர் கல்லூரி தொடர்ந்து இடம்பெற்ற இரண்டு கால் பாதி ஆட்டங்களிலும் படிப்படியாக முன்னேறியது.

ஆட்டம் முடிவடைய 2 நிமிடம் இருக்கும் நிலையில் உடுவில் மகளிர் கல்லூரி 25:24 புள்ளிகள் என்ற நிலையில் இருந்தது. இந்த இறுதி விநாடிகளில் உடுவில் மகளிர் கல்லூரி வீராங்கனை செய்த தவறுக்காக வழங்கப்பட்ட தண்டனை மூலம் கொக்குவில் இந்துக் கல்லூரி 2 புள்ளிகளைப் பெற்று முன்னேறிக் கொண்டது. ஆட்டநிறைவில் கொக்குவில் இந்துக் கல்லூரி 26:25 புள்ளிகள் என்ற அடிப்படை யில் வெற்றி பெற்றது.

KHC WON 20/20 CRICKET CHAMPIONSHIP – 5TH OCT 2008. KHC won the championship in the first ever 20/20 cricket tournament organised by Vaddu Jaffna College among 8 leading colleges in Jaffna

Kokuvil Hindu College won the triangular 20/20 overs cricket friendly

Kokuvil Hindu College won the triangular 20/20 overs cricket friendly matches organized by Manipay Hindu College. The three leading colleges KHC, Manipay Hindu and Mahajana who celebrate their centenary year in 2010 took part in these matches at the playground of MHC.

In the final KHC beat Mahajana college.
Mahajana batted first and scored 103 runs in 19.2 overs and lost all of its wickets.
Vallavakumaran captured 3 wickets in 4 overs and gave away only 16 runs.
Pavithran captured 2 wickets in 4 overs and gave away 18 runs.
Niroshan captured 1 wicket in 4 overs and gave away 23 runs.

KHC reached its target of 104 runs within 12.2 overs.
Gopigan scored30 runs with one sixer and 4 boundaries.
Vageesan scored 19 runs(not out) with 4 boundaries.
Vallavakumaran the all rounder scored a very quick 17 runs (not out) with four boundaries.
The captain of KHC Valllavakumarn was chosen as the man of the match as well as the man of the series.

KHC won the championship in the first ever 20/20 cricket tournament organised by Vaddu Jaffna College among 8 leading colleges in Jaffna.

Under 19 teams of Kokuvil Hindu College, Jaffna College, Jaffna Hindu College, St. Patrick College, Mahajana College, Skandavarothaya College, Hartley College and Jaffna Central College participated this tournament at Vaddu Jaffna College.

In the final KHC beat St Patricks College. SPC batted first and scored only 74 runs for the loss all wickets in 16.2 overs. KHC reached its target of 75 runs for the loss only 6 wickets with 2 overs to spare.
KHC bowlers:
Vallavakumaran took 3 wickets in 4 overs for 10 runs.
Pavithran took 2 wickets in 4 overs for 17 runs.
Niroshan took 1 wicket in 2.2 overs for only one run.
Theepan took 1 wicket in 3 overs for 13 runs.
Karthik took 1 wickets in 2 overs for 6 runs.

Kokuvil Hindu Girls Team Beat Urumpirai and reached final.

Netball team of KHC girls beat urumpirai Hindu girls and reache semifinal. KHC will paly against Jaffna Hindu Ladies in the tournament conducted by Canadian Univercity Services in memory of it centenary celebration.

மஹாஜனாவை மண் கவ்வ வைத்தது கொக்குவில் இந்து
தெல்லிப்பளை மஹாஜனா மைதானத்தில் நடந்த போட்டியில் முதலில் துடுப்பாடிய மஹாஜனா 50 ஓவரில் 99ஓட்டங்கள் மட்டும் பெறவைத்தனர் கொக்குவில் பந்து வீச்சாளர்கள் சிவரூபன், தாருஜன், செந்தூரன், புவிராஜ் ஆகியோர். கொக்குவில் துடுப்பாட்ட வீரர்கள் 29 ஓவர்களிலேயே 100 ஓட்டங்கள் பெற்று வெற்றி வாகை சூடினர்.

முதல் துடுப்பெடுத்தாடிய கொக்குவில் 32.2 ஓவரில் 138 ஓட்டங்களை மட்டும் பெற்றதால் மிகுந்த நம்பிக்கையுடன் களமிறங்கிய ஹாட்லி அணியை கொக்குவில் பந்து வீச்சாளர்கள் திறமையாக பந்து வீசித் திணறடித்து 130 ஓட்டங்களுக்கு ஆட்டமிழக்க வைத்து வென்றனர்.

முதலில் துடுப்பாடிய கொக்குவில் 9 விக்கட் இழப்பிற்கு 219 ஓட்டங்கள் – இதில் பவித்திரன் 43 கே நிரோஜன் 34. நல்ல நிதானத்துடன் தமது ஆட்டத்தை தொடங்கிய யாழ்ப்பாணக் கல்லூரியை திறமாக பந்து வீசிய பவிராஜ், பவித்திரன், நிரோஜன் ஆகியோர் எதிரணியினரை 212 ஓட்டங்களுக்கு ஆட்டமிழக்க வைத்து வெற்றியை தமதாக்கினர்.

Best Ever Display of Sportsmanship – 28th Aug 08.

In the over 40 cricket tournament conducted by the TSSA U. K on 25th August 2008, KHC OSA U. K played very well and reached final and played against the Jaffna Central OSA team. Centralites batted first and scored 89 runs for the loss of two wickets in the 6 over match. KHC batted second and scored 38 runs in 3.2 overs. At this point the match had to be abandoned due to bad light. But the Kokuvilites handed over the championship to Centralites as they think the Centralies played better in the previous matches. The officials of TSSA said this is the best ever display of sportsmanship in any of the competition conducted by them in their 16 years history.

P. N. Yoganathan of KHC OSA U. K selected as the best bawler of the tournament.

Under 10 football team of Kokuvil Hindu College OSA U. K beat Harrow Tamil School by 4 – 1.
