Mr.V.Nagalingam lived at Thalaiyali lane now renamed Sabapathy Road in Vannarpannai East. He had an impressive personality with a well built frame; Clark is complexion and wearing white “verty” cloth and national banyan.He was popularly known as Shakespeare Nag lingam or simply as Shakespeare, because of his excellent rendition of Shakespeare’s plays to his students. He had genial smile on his face, and addressed us in affectionate tone as a kind of father would addressed his children.

Mr.V.Nagalingam assumed the principal ship of KHC in 1947, After that he acquired for the College a plot of land party to serve as playground and party to put up future extensions to the college building. For this purpose he raised a loan from the board of JHC and affiliated colleges. A temporary cadjan shed was put on the newly acquired land to accommodate a number of classrooms.

One night in1948 someone set fire to this cadjan shed. Then the principal and teachers decided to rise found from the parents and well wishes from house to house and put up a permanent building. During the holidays they went to the place and stayed there for nearly two weeks, visiting houses and seeing prominent people.
